Pediatric Hospitalist physician employment in New Jersey :

A New Jersey-based healthcare system is currently seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join their team in Essex County.
About the Opportunity:


  • State Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: 12 or 24 hour shifts, must be open to weekends
  • Patient Volume: 15 to 20 per day


Responsibilities:


  • Admit children and adolescents to the hospital when they require inpatient care.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, reviewing their medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests to make accurate diagnoses and create treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric medical conditions, including infectious diseases, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, surgical conditions, and more.
  • Make daily rounds on hospitalized patients to assess their progress, update treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform various procedures, including lumbar punctures, central line placements, and intubations, when necessary to manage and treat pediatric patients.
  • Communicate with patient's families to provide updates on their child's condition, explain treatment plans, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Work on discharge plans and ensure that patients are stable and safe for discharge, and that appropriate follow-up care is arranged for continued recovery.


Qualifications:


  • Licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey
  • Board Eligible / Certified
  • PALS certification
  • Experience working with the Pediatric population
