CooperGenomics (Recombine) seeks to develop the most comprehensive and cost-effective patient-and-doctor friendly approach to genetic testing. Our product, CarrierMap, helps identify couples at risk of passing a genetic disease to their children. Our company was founded by experts in fertility, clinical genetics, bioinformatics and computer science brought together with one goal in mind: to improve health outcomes based on accessible and actionable genetic testing.
CooperGenomics/Recombine's Clinical Diagnostics Associates utilize their clinical genetics expertise to maintain CooperGenomics' high standards of clinical quality. They manage reporting for all genetic tests and advise many other teams, including the quality control, laboratory, client services, variant curation, sales, and genetic counseling teams. Clinical diagnostics associates can also take on additional duties, such as counseling patients, performing research, etc. as work load permits.
Essential Functions:
Review and approve carrier screening and noninvasive prenatal screening reports
Write special reports and troubleshoot reporting issues
Collaborate with molecular analysts as part of the quality control team
Estimate and monitor samples' progress and turnaround time
Coordinate confirmation testing when necessary
Advise clients and other team members regarding reports, samples, technology, diagnostic criteria, and other technical matters
Requirements
About You:
Master's degree in Genetic Counseling
ABGC Board Certified/Board Eligible
Minimum 2 years genetic counseling experience preferred
Prior experience in biotech industry preferred
Expertise in molecular genetic testing preferred
Detail oriented
Ability to work independently as well as in a group
Passionate about genetics and delivery of genetic information
Local candidates preferred; will consider remote candidates
